- Cut them out carefully using scissors or a 2″ Circle Punch.
- Attach a cocktail stick or lollipop stick to the back of each topper and secure it with tape. Then, place the toppers into cupcakes!
- If desired, mount the toppers onto some cardstock to hide the tape at the back. The images below demonstrate our London 2012 toppers and the punches we used.

- Need recipes for cupcakes? Try The BEST Vanilla Cupcakes and, of course, Classic Buttercream Frosting.
- Be sure to inform guests that toppers for your Olympic cupcakes are not edible.
- However, if you are lucky enough to own (or know someone who owns one) an edible ink printer, you can turn this printable into edible cupcake toppers. You must print onto edible icing paper or rice paper. After cutting them out, place them directly onto your cupcakes.

More Creative Ideas for The Olympic Games
Having gone to town with DIY projects when the Olympics were held in my hometown of London in 2012, here are some of the things I made back then to inspire you for the Paris 2024 games!
These particular posts are from when I was a very new blogger, so please excuse the layout and photos!
- Giant Tissue Paper Rosettes—I made one for each color of the Olympic rings: blue, black, red, yellow, and green.
- Olympic Rings Wall Paper Fans—Using the same colors as the rosettes.
- Decoupage Cardboard Letters—Mine were for London 2012, but you can make them using red, white, and blue and Parisien motifs to make them for this year’s games.
- Olympic Rings Decoration—This is an easy craft for kids to get involved with!
- Olympic Torch Cake Push-Ups—In 2012, cake push-ups were a thing. A fun snack idea, for sure!
