Welcome to Crafty October – a month of Halloween ideas! I started this series in 2012 (the first October on my blog!) with a view to sharing a different craft each day throughout the month. However, it has come to be all things Halloween, including not only crafts, but food, party ideas, printables, costumes, and anything Halloween related!
Halloween activities include trick-or-treating (or the related guising), attending Halloween costume parties, carving pumpkins into jack-o’-lanterns, lighting bonfires, apple bobbing, divination games, playing pranks, visiting haunted attractions, telling scary stories and watching horror films. In many parts of the world, the Christian religious observances of All Hallows’ Eve, including attending church services and lighting candles on the graves of the dead, remain popular, although elsewhere it is a more commercial and secular celebration. Some Christians historically abstained from meat on All Hallows’ Eve, a tradition reflected in the eating of certain foods on this vigil day, including apples, potato pancakes, and soul cakes. – Wikipedia
This page is the main hub for all of the Halloween series over the years. Click through to each year to be greeted with the all ideas for that year. I tend to stay on the cute and less spooky side of Halloween, keeping it kid and family friendly. I will always let you know if something is for adults only.
This year had another full party set using some cute Halloween characters I designed. I did have more plans for those characters, so they will be back in 2018!
This is the only year that I’ve not shared an idea a day – all is explained why when you visit the page. It was mainly free printables in 2016, using Disney Villains as the theme.
I created a full party set using The Nightmare Before Christmas as the theme. It was mainly printables in 2015 because I was going on holiday and wouldn’t have time to do much else. I think these printables are some of my favourite ever!
Quite a lot of recipes again in 2014, both sweet and savoury – and using pumpkins too! I also shared 35 pumpkin carving patterns, and a 101 guide.
There was a lot more food ideas for Halloween 2013. There were also crafts, free printables, and last minute costume decorations.
My very first series, and one that I so proud of! There is a mixture of different crafts, free printables, recipes, and party decorations.
