What Are The Best Apples To Use In Apple Blondies?

With 7500 varieties of apples worldwide, there are plenty of apples to choose from!

The varieties you can buy may depend on where in the world you live.

When choosing apples for baking, look for crisp, firm, sweet-tart apples that can stand up to the heat of the oven or stove without turning mushy.

Granny Smith apples are great all-around apples and an easy choice when at the grocery store.

Other great varieties for these chewy blondies are Braeburn, Honeycrisp, Pink Lady, Fuji, Gala, or Jonagold.

Equipment Needed For This Recipe

The Purple Pumpkin Blog uses both cups and weighted measurements in its recipes, making American cups and kitchen food scales valuable tools for trying all the recipes. We provide US customary, imperial, and metric measurements. Still, it’s important to note that while you can combine cup measurements with weighted measures, never mix US customary/imperial (pounds, ounces, pints, etc.) with metric (kilograms, grams, liters, etc.).
