Give Away Sparkling Favours
Don’t know how to decorate your tables? Use items that your guests can take home after the party to remind them of the fun you shared.
Turn sparklers into party favors or placeholders with paper tags and ribbons.
Remove the sparklers from the packaging, group them together in 5’s or 10’s, then tie them with white, red, and blue ribbons. Then add the name of the party attendee on display for a perfect place card.

Use Star-Shaped Candles
Top your dessert with star-shaped candles in red, white, and blue. These candles will make even the simplest of cakes the perfect showpiece for your gathering.
Serve Red Sangria
A favorite pitcher drink for festive days like the 4th of July is red sangria. It’s colorful, delicious, and it can be prepared really fast.
Red sangria is so easy to make and can be customised with lots of different fruits.
You could use a star shaped cookie cutter to cut the fruit into festive shapes, or make skewers of red, white and blue fruits (strawberries, dragon fruit, and blueberries for example) for guests to stir their drink with.
- 2 apples, chopped
- 2 oranges, sliced
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 bottle red wine
- ¼ Cup/60ml brandy
- ½ Cup/120ml orange Juice
- Add all of the ingredients to a pitcher and stir.
- Refrigerate for 4 hours, or overnight if possible
- Serve over ice.
You can turn this into a longer drink by adding sparkling water when serving.
Decorate With Patriotic Party Linens
Forget about plain white table settings and use patriotic colors and designs to adorn the table instead. Purchase ready-made party linens on Amazon, or create your own! Dip-dye cotton napkins with red and blue colored dyes, or use fabric paints and a star shaped stamp to cover a plain table runner.
Prepare Patriotic Refreshments
Why not serve food with a red, white and blue theme alongside the burgers and hot dogs?
Cupcakes, cookies, donuts and sheet pan cakes are all easy to buy pre-made and decorate at home with candies, sprinkles and frosting.
Or serve a delicious fruit salad with strawberries, raspberries, watermelon (red); dragonfruit, banana, melon, lychee (white); and blueberries, grapes (blue)
For cans and bottles of sodas and beer, fill a metal tub with ice (you could even color some of the cubes red and blue with food coloring!) and add the beverages to remain chilled through the day.
Patriotic Party Decorations
Unleash your patriotic spirit by crafting your own decorations!
Make tissue paper flowers, or paper fans; use scraps of red, white, and blue material to make a rag wreath; paint bottles and jars in patriotic colors and fill with flowers or candles.
Prepare Some Games
Enjoy a friendly competition with the family by playing some games.
You can play DIY bottle ring toss or bean bag toss. Cornhole is also an enjoyable game that people of any age or ability can play, it’s the perfect summer outdoor game.
You can enjoy the Fourth of July without leaving the comfort of your home. These 4th of July party ideas will give your party guests a great memory they will cherish for years to come.
