More Recipes Using Tequila
One of the hero ingredients in this recipe is tequila, so here are some more using the same:

Recipe Tips
- Use high-quality white chocolate for the best flavor.
- If you can’t source blood oranges, regular oranges will work just fine.
- Keep your hands cold while forming the truffles for the best results.
- If the mixture isn’t “orange” enough, add a few drops of oil-based food coloring to the chocolate mixture. Ensure that the food coloring is for use with chocolate.
Storing Leftovers & Freezing
- Storing Leftovers:
- Truffles can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week
- For longer storage, freeze truffles in a single layer and transfer them to a container once solid
- Freezing Instructions:
- These orange margarita truffles are best enjoyed fresh. However, you can try freezing them to make them last a bit longer—especially if you haven’t had the chance to eat them all!
- Generally, you can freeze chocolate truffles, but we have not frozen this recipe.
- The alcohol content may prevent the margarita truffles from freezing completely.
- Freeze the truffles in a single layer on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
- When frozen, transfer the truffles to a freezer-safe plastic food bag and into an airtight freezer-safe container to help prevent freezer burn and eliminate unwanted freezer smells.
- Label with the date, the dish name, thawing, and reheating instructions to keep track of your food storage.
- Store in the freezer for up to 3 months.
- To defrost the truffles, unwrap them completely and place them in the fridge to thaw overnight (or at least 12 hours).
- With all leftovers, ensure the food looks and smells okay before consuming.
- You can always consult the Food Standards Agency in your country for the most up-to-date advice on storing and freezing foods: Food Standards Agency (UK) | Food Safety (USA).
