How Do I Make A Pineapple Jar?
The printable tutorial card with the full supplies list and instructions can be found at the end of this post.
Step 1 – Prepare & Basecoat: Wash, dry, and remove the labels from the glass jar and lid.
Basecoat the jar with light yellow paint, and leave it to dry. Apply a second coat if necessary.
Basecoat the metal jar lid with dark green paint and leave it to dry. Apply a second coat if necessary.
Step 2 – Topcoat: Topcoat the jar with dark yellow paint in a random fashion, allowing some of the light yellow basecoat to peek through.
Step 3 – Paint Detail: Apply dark brown paint to the raised diamond pattern on the glass jar. Dip the side of a flat paintbrush in the dark down and tap onto the glass to mimic the rough exterior of a pineapple.
Step 4 – Print & Use Pattern: Download, print, and cut out the Pineapple Jar Craft Pattern.
Attach it to the olive green felt with straight pins and cut it out with scissors. Repeat this process with the dark green felt.
Step 5 – Roll Leaves: Lay the olive green leaves on top of the dark green leaves, and using a glue gun and glue sticks, add a blob of glue at one end of the base.
Carefully and tightly, roll the felt to create the stalk of leaves, securing periodically with glue.
Make sure to keep the bottom edge straight as you roll and glue.
Step 6 – Attach Leaves: Glue the completed stalk to the top center of the jar lid.
Wrap natural jute twine around the jar lid, knot, and then finish with a bow.
