Ingredients & Equipment Used In This Recipe
While most ingredients can be bought in grocery stores, for your convenience, any specialized or notable ingredients and equipment needed for this recipe have been listed below and linked to Amazon or other stores if available online.
It may not include staple ingredients such as oil, salt, sugar, etc., as you’re likely to have those in your kitchen. The complete list of ingredients with measurements is found in the recipe card.
- Fresh Produce – Chives, Cherry Tomato
- Dairy – Cream Cheese, Cheddar Cheese
- Ranch Seasoning
- Everything [But The] Bagel Seasoning
- Black Olives
- Pretzels – two original size to make the antlers
What is Everything But the Bagel Seasoning?
This is a seasoning blend created by Trader Joe’s, an American grocery store that sells unique and interesting products (according to their website that is, I’ve never actually been to a Trader Joe’s!).
The seasoning contains white and black sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried garlic & onion, and sea salt flakes which are found on top of an everything bagel. But the blend could be used on so many other things like salads, popcorn, dips, pasta…
Now, if you don’t have a Trader Joe’s near you – or in fact do not live in the USA, you can make it yourself at home!
*Homemade Everything [But The] Bagel Seasoning
Simply mix together the following ingredients and store in an airtight jar.
- 1 Tbsp sea salt flakes
- 1½ Tbsp dried minced garlic
- 1½ Tbsp dried onion flakes
- 1 Tbsp white sesame seeds
- 1 Tbsp black sesame seeds
- 2 Tbsp poppy seeds
Recipes on The Purple Pumpkin Blog use both cup measurements and/or weighted measurements. American cups and kitchen food scales are handy pieces of equipment to have in your kitchen as it means you’ll be able to make all of the different recipes on my blog. I try to give American, imperial, and metric measurements in my recipes. Please note, you can mix cup measurements with weighted measurements, but never mix imperial (pounds, ounces, pints, etc.,) with metric (kilograms, grams, litres, etc.,).
