While most ingredients can be bought in grocery stores, for your convenience, any specialized or notable ingredients and equipment needed for this recipe have been listed below and linked to Amazon or other stores if available online.

It may not include staple ingredients such as oil, salt, sugar, etc., as you’re likely to have those in your kitchen. The complete list of ingredients with measurements is found in the recipe card.

Recipe for Stuffed Dates

Goat Cheese Stuffed Dates

Yield: 24
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Total Time: 30 minutes

The Holidays are about indulgence and these Goat Cheese Stuffed Dates are the perfect luxurious festive party appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 24 large whole Medjool dates
  • 6 oz (170g) goat cheese, room temperature
  • ½ cup blanched almonds, slivered
  • 3 Tbsp honey, divided
  • 12 slices bacon, cut in half
  • 1 Tbsp fresh parsley leaves, finely chopped, for garnish, optional

Instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 220°C/425°F/Gas 7. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a non-stick baking mat and set it aside.
  2. Pit the dates by carefully cutting a slit down one side with a sharp knife. Remove pits and discard. Set aside.
  3. Add goat cheese, almonds, and two tablespoons of honey to a medium bowl and stir to combine. Fill each pitted date with some of the goat cheese mixture and gently squeeze closed. Set aside.
  4. Place one-half slice of bacon on a clean work surface with a stuffed date on top. Roll until the date is wrapped in the bacon and secure with a toothpick to hold together.
  5. Repeat this process with the remaining bacon and stuffed dates.
  6. Arrange the bacon-wrapped dates on the prepared baking sheet and place them in the center of the preheated oven. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the bacon is evenly cooked, and the dates are heated through. Flip the dates two or three times with tongs while cooking to ensure even results.
  7. Remove from oven and drizzle with remaining honey and garnish with the fresh parsley, if using, and serve immediately. Enjoy!
