Back to School Olaf Printable

Do you wanna build a snowman… with school gear?

If you’ve been looking for a perfect blend of Frozen fun and back-to-school vibes, look no further!

Today, I’m excited to introduce our free Build A Back To School Olaf printable activity for kids.

Back-to-School Olaf is my 16th seasonal version!

And if you have not downloaded any of my Olaf printables before, let me give you the lowdown.

There are two sizes of Olaf – regular and large. Both are included in the download.

They contain the basic pieces—head, body, arms, feet, carrot nose, 5 sets of eyes, eyebrows, hair, and buttons—as well as seasonal pieces.

Why Olaf for Back-to-School?

Why not?!

Olaf is that lovable snowman who made us all laugh and feel warm inside (despite being made of snow).

Now imagine Olaf ready for school, with a backpack slung over his shoulders and a pencil snugly fit in his twiggy hand!

Cute, right?

Plus…It’s been a long time since I made a free printable Olaf, and after a request for a back-to-school Olaf printable, I knew it was time to give him another makeover!

What’s in the Olaf Printable?

The printable is designed to be as delightful and engaging as Olaf himself! It comes with the following:

• Olaf’s signature round body and adorable head.

• Don’t forget that carrot nose—his eyes, eyebrows, or smiling mouth!

• Two twiggy arms, perfect for holding all his school essentials.

• Two legs to help him walk into his imaginary snow school.

• A trendy backpack because every student needs one.

• A sharp pencil – for when Olaf wants to doodle or take some notes.

• Some school books (because even snowmen love to read).

• And a cap! To give him that “ready-for-school” look.

Two Sizes for Double the Fun!

Worried about the space or just looking for variety? We’ve got you covered.

Our free Build A Back-To-School Olaf printable comes in two sizes:

Regular Size Olaf Template

The regular-size template (pictured at the top of this post) creates a small Olaf (about 10″/25cm tall), and all the pieces are on one sheet of paper.

This size can have some tricky pieces for little kids to cut out, so you may have to do it for them.

The regular size is perfect for those who’d like a mini Olaf on their study tables or notebooks!

Large Size Olaf Template

The large size template will give you a much bigger Olaf—about 60cm/20″ tall!

The pieces are spread over several sheets of paper.

Apart from maybe the hair and the arms, all the pieces should be simple enough for kids to cut out on their own. But of course, help where necessary.

Large Olaf is ideal for a bigger display, maybe on a classroom bulletin board or your child’s room wall.

How To Build A Back To School Olaf!

Download, Print & Cut:

Simply download the template and print it onto thick white paper or some thin white card.

Carefully cut out Olaf’s body parts and school accessories with safety scissors.

Younger children may need help with some of the pieces.

Assemble Olaf:

You can stick the pieces together if you wish using a glue stick or roller glue tape – which is my preferred method as it’s less messy.

Have fun mixing and matching!

How about Olaf holding a book in one hand and a pencil in the other?

Or maybe just casually slinging his backpack? You decide!

To ensure the Olaf pieces last a long time, use a laminator to laminate them to use them repeatedly.

Over the years, readers have shared their Olafs with me, used craft supplies like glitter and cotton wool for snow, and then mounted them onto large pieces of construction paper. I think this is such a great idea!

If you build an Olaf from one of my printables, please take a picture and share it on social media using the hashtag #TPPBOlaf I would love to see them!

Display Your Olaf:

Once your Olaf is ready for school, find a perfect spot to show him off. Maybe next to your school schedule or on your desk?
