We decided to go off-resort for dinner (which we ended up taking out). There really was only one option for us – Bahama Breeze!

Our preferred location for this chain restaurant is the one in Kissimmee on W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway (the 192).

The sun was going down, and the sky looked amazing as we drove to Bahama Breeze.

As I’ve mentioned, Bahama Breeze is one of our favorite (non-Disney) restaurants, we dined here and taken out countless times over the years!

Many of the items on the menu have remained unchanged too – which is good for me as they’re some of my favorites too!

Appetizers…

The Firecracker Shrimp is my absolute favorite appetizer at Bahama Breeze, so any chance to eat it, I’m gonna do it!

We tend to share appetizers when we dine out, and so we ended up adding an extra one with Black Bean Soup (which is so good, and so easy to cook at home too!). It is sold in two sizes, a cup and a bowl. We got the cup size which is slightly smaller than bowl size.

Me: Firecracker Shrimp – Buttermilk battered and fried with Sriracha aioli. ($11.49)

Steve: Buttermilk Chicken Jibaritos – Sliders with a Caribbean twist, using flattened fried plantains instead of bread, buttermilk fried chicken, topped with Siracha aioli. ($9.79)

Us: Black Bean Soup – Slow-simmered and drizzled with cilantro-crema. ($4.99)

The photo of the soup below is an old one from a previous visit – looks like it is a side of soup with my Cuban Sandwich (my other favorite!).

Entrées…

We’ve often ordered jerk chicken wings as an appetizer, but never as a main dish – until now!

Spicy hot and full of flavor, we both enjoyed our platters of food.

Me: Taste of Jamaica – Featuring jerk chicken, pulled jerk pork, beef empananda, braised greens, sweet plantains, white rice and black beans. ($19.99)

Steve: Jamaican Jerk Chicken – Jerk chicken served with white rice, black beans and plantains. ($16.99)

Dessert…

Both of our dessert choices were favorites of ours. I have ordered the Banana Nut Bread Supreme literally every time we’ve been to Bahama Breeze!

The picture of my dessert is another old one from a previous trip as I don’t appear to have taken one this time around.

Me: Banana Nut Bread Supreme – Sliced bananas, vanilla ice cream, on warm banana nut bread, with hot butterscotch brandy sauce. ($7.29)

Steve: Rebecca’s Key Lime Pie – Our original. Handmade with brown sugar crust and golden meringue. ($6.99)

Total Paid: $85.00

As I said, we took our food to-go, which is so easy to do in America and I wish we did that more here in the UK!

After dinner we just hung out at our Disney Resort – Wilderness Lodge, before hitting the hay.

Tomorrow we have a relaxing pool day, packed up our stuff as we were changing resorts, and had the new [at the time ] character dining experience at Artist Point.
