Day 12: Flower Power! / Four Resorts, Two Festivals 2019
Home » Everything Disney » Walt Disney World Trip Reports » Day 12: Flower Power! / Four Resorts, Two Festivals 2019 »We made our way around to Future World West where we saw the Figment topiary, as well as venturing into The Goodness Garden Butterfly House Presented by GoGo squeeZ®
We managed to spot a few butterflies, but it was quite busy inside the tent – and pretty humid too! Be mindful of where you are stepping when inside the butterfly house, and check that there aren’t any on you as you leave.
The handy sign inside The Goodness Garden Butterfly House lets you know which butterflies to look out for:
White Peacock; Queen; Common Buckeye; Painted Lady; Pipevine Swallowtail; Orange-barred Sulphur; Eastern Black Swallowtail; Great Southern White; Florida Viceroy; Red Admiral; Monarch; Eastern Tiger Swallowtail; Giant Swallowtail; Julia; Zebra Longwing
There were lots of plants in the butterfly house, no doubt ones that the butterflies love, and we did manage to spot a few species!
We crossed over to Future World East where the Toy Story topiaries were, as well as the new for 2019, Bo Peep’s Playtime Training Grounds (near Test Track).
The play area is described: Join your favorite Toy Story pals, and meet some new ones, in this playground that’s fun for the whole family.
The Purple Martins nest boxes are also in this location – but we didn’t see any of these birds when we visited. According to Wikipedia:
The purple martin is the largest swallow in North America. Despite their name, purple martins are not truly purple. Their dark blackish-blue feathers have an iridescent sheen caused by the refraction of incident light giving them a bright blue to navy blue or deep purple appearance.
We then popped into The Gardener’s Terrace at Odyssey Center where the Arbor Outdoor Kitchen was located (but we didn’t buy from) as well as merchandise options. It’s also a nice air conditioned area to get out of the sun and cool off!
