I’m already planning when Steve and I can go down to Axminster, so that he too can visit River Cottage. There are several cookery courses, for all skill levels, and lasting from one to four days; the four day course being the ultimate foodie and rural retreat… and the one that my eyes are on. There are courses in meat, fish, veg, baking, and even foraging… and several more besides. There are also seasonal dining and events throughout the year, including ones hosted by Hugh. I did look for the next one (in November) but it’s fully booked already.

We did, as a family, visit the River Cottage Canteen in Axminster a few years ago, but there are also ones in Bristol, Plymouth, and Winchester, so you can grab yourself a little bit of the River Cottage vibe, by visiting one of these for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

I had the most amazing time at River Cottage HQ, an experience I will not be forgetting in a hurry! Thanks to them for hosting us, and for Foodies/Tots for hosting this wonderful event.

I’m closing this post out, with some final photographs that I took during my dream day at River Cottage. All of the photos that I took can be found on my Facebook page here.
