After a cuppa and a pastry on the deck, it was time for a bit of a wander around the grounds, before the first session would begin. A lot of photo taking was going on, and a lot of wow and omg moments too! For me, it was stepping foot into the cottage (which for some stupid reason, I don’t have a photo of the front of, not bad for 500 photos *facepalm*), and seeing the kitchen that I’ve seen a hundred times on the telly, and that Hugh cooks in and presents from. I wasn’t the only one that was just a little bit excited about being in this kitchen! Although, I was even more excited to see the chicken brick above the fireplace, remembering the episode when it was made, and the struggle to fit several of them in the River Cottage ovens! I wonder how many times it has been used over the years?
And then of course, there was the dining room, with the long wooden table, and wood burning stove at the end, that we’ve seen many times on TV, and I know, made me wish I was sitting around it, enjoying a River Cottage meal!
