A Dream Day at River Cottage HQ
Home » Lifestyle » A Dream Day at River Cottage HQ »After a cuppa and a pastry on the deck, it was time for a bit of a wander around the grounds, before the first session would begin. A lot of photo taking was going on, and a lot of wow and omg moments too! For me, it was stepping foot into the cottage (which for some stupid reason, I don’t have a photo of the front of, not bad for 500 photos *facepalm*), and seeing the kitchen that I’ve seen a hundred times on the telly, and that Hugh cooks in and presents from. I wasn’t the only one that was just a little bit excited about being in this kitchen! Although, I was even more excited to see the chicken brick above the fireplace, remembering the episode when it was made, and the struggle to fit several of them in the River Cottage ovens! I wonder how many times it has been used over the years?
And then of course, there was the dining room, with the long wooden table, and wood burning stove at the end, that we’ve seen many times on TV, and I know, made me wish I was sitting around it, enjoying a River Cottage meal!

I took about 160 photos, don’t feel so bad now compared to your 500 :D Am jealous you got to meet HFW twice before, would have been awesome to have met on the day..another time I hope! I can’t believe a whole week has passed since visiting, was the same as you looking forward to it for so long..and now.. oh nothing hmm, a bit deflated lol!

My super slow broadband speed in my little village has really struggled to load all your lovely images so I’ve not seen them all but it sounds like you had a wonderful experience. The River Cottage cookbooks are firm favourites in our house.

Wow – it looks absolutely gorgeous. I’m a HFW fan too but have never made it to RC HQ. I have been to the Axminster canteen which isn’t so bad really considering I live in London :)

It really is so easy – I’ll put the recipe up soon! We did get to bring it home, so we’ve been enjoying it all week! And yes, I think it did taste better – homemade stuff always does!

Oh my word your pictures are absolutely AMMMMAAAZING!!!
