Ingredients & Equipment Used In This Recipe
While most ingredients can be bought in grocery stores, for your convenience, any specialized or notable ingredients and equipment needed for this recipe have been listed below and linked to Amazon or other stores if available online.
It may not include staple ingredients such as oil, salt, sugar, etc., as you’re likely to have those in your kitchen. The complete list of ingredients with measurements is found in the recipe card.
- Dairy – Heavy Whipping Cream (Double Cream), Whole Milk.
- Powdered Sugar – also known as Icing Sugar or Confectioners Sugar.
- Pure Vanilla Extract – always buy good vanilla as it really does make a flavor difference.
- Ghirardelli White Chocolate Chips – in the UK I highly recommend Callebaut White Chocolate Callets. You want to use good-quality white chocolate in this recipe.
- Coconut Oil
- Winter Sprinkles – your choice, for (optional) garnish.
Recipes on The Purple Pumpkin Blog use both cup measurements and/or weighted measurements. American cups and kitchen food scales are handy pieces of equipment to have in your kitchen as it means you’ll be able to make all of the different recipes on my blog. I try to give American, imperial, and metric measurements in my recipes. Please note, you can mix cup measurements with weighted measurements, but never mix imperial (pounds, ounces, pints, etc.,) with metric (kilograms, grams, litres, etc.,).

Recipe Tips
- As shown, this recipe yields two large 16-oz/450ml drinks. However, it can be divided into 3 or 4 smaller servings depending on what size mugs you use.
- The addition of a little fat, such as melted butter or coconut oil, to the melted chocolate chips helps prevent clumping if the chocolate cools.

White Chocolate Mocha
Ingredients
For the Topping
- ¾ cup heavy whipping cream double cream
- 3 Tbsp powdered sugar icing sugar
- 1 tsp real vanilla extract
For the Mocha
- 2 cup whole milk
- ½ cup Ghirardelli white chocolate baking chips
- ½ Tbsp coconut oil
- 2 cup freshly brewed strong black coffee
- Sprinkles for garnish, optional
Instructions
- To prepare the whipped cream, pour the heavy whipping cream into a large bowl and mix until it becomes partially solid. Add the vanilla extract, and then the powdered sugar, and continue mixing until light and fluffy. Cover and place in the refrigerator until ready to use.
- Pour the milk into a saucepan set over medium-low heat. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring continually to prevent scorching, until heated through. Remove from heat and set aside.
- Pour white chocolate chips into a medium microwave-safe bowl and heat in 20-second intervals, stirring between each one, until melted. Add the coconut oil and stir to combine.
- Transfer the warm milk into the bowl with the white chocolate sauce and stir to combine. Set aside.
- Pour the hot coffee into two 16-oz. mugs and top each one off with the white chocolate milk mixture.
- Remove the whipped cream from the refrigerator and add a big dollop to each mug or spoon into an icing bag fitted with a decorative tip to create an attractive swirl.
- Add sprinkles, if using, and serve immediately. Enjoy!
