Our Easter Egg Hunt
Home » Lifestyle »Wow, where has this week flown to? I had planned to write about our Easter weekend during the week, but Old Father Time has been chasing me (again)…
Anyway, I thought I best write about it now, and since it is the Orthodox Easter Sunday today, and since my dad is Greek-Orthodox, I feel that I can still write about Easter :D Just to tie everything in nicely, here is my recipe for flaounes, which are savoury Greek cheese cakes, traditionally eaten at Easter, and one of my favourites!
Back to last weekend, where I had my sister, brother-in-law and niece join us for a Sunday roast dinner of chicken, eating chocolate eggs and going out into the garden for an Easter Egg Hunt.
We hid plastic eggs, fuzzy chicks and the egg animals I made a few weeks ago around the garden, ready for Sephy to go hunting for. Since she is only little, we didn’t hide them too well!
Sephy had lots of fun searching around the garden for the hidden treasures, and filled her little basket to the top. She then brought them inside, where I turned her finds into a hide-and-seek box. I filled a box with shredded tissue paper and popped everything inside and she had a great time trying to find everything all over again. As she found the egg animals, she would tell us what sounds they make, and then she lined all the eggs up in a row. It’s since become her favourite thing to do at our house, and on her few visits over during the week she’s asked if she can find the eggs again!
And finally, what is Easter Sunday without a chocolate egg? Or in Sephy’s case, a chocolate Mr. Bump! Just recently she’s become even more cheeky than normal, and before she cracked Mr. Bump on the noggin to eat him, I asked her I could take a photo of her with it, and asked her to smile… this is the face she gave me… and then she decided to flash me the tiniest of smiles!
We had a brilliant Easter Sunday, filled with family, food and fun – what else can be better than that?!

lol, she’s a funny girl my niece! I remember last Easter we were out in the garden with just t-shirts on, so different for us this year, it was pretty cold!

Easter wouldn’t be the same for my son without an Easter egg hunt, he absolutely loves it. Looks as though your daughter had a lovely time.
