Day 4 of Our First Disney Cruise 2021! Disney Magic At Sea, the latest of my Disney Trip Reports, is here! Today we disembark our first Disney cruise to re-embark for our second one back to back!

The Index of Our First Disney Cruise 2021! Disney Magic At Sea (UK Staycation) tells you a bit about the planning of this trip, as well as some info about us – me, Michelle; and my husband, Steve. It also, of course, has the full list of days for the trip.

Day 4: Disembark/Re-embark

Breakfast at Rapunzel’s Royal Table, Open House, Tangled: The Musical, Dinner at Animator’s Palate

September 17, 2021

Today is disembarkation for most of the passengers on the cruise ship. It would be for us too, but we have a second back-to-back cruise book which means, for these UK staycations, we stay on board the ship to disembark and re-embark!

Last night, we received a letter on our Fish letting us know the process for today. It was very simple, we were to head to D’Lounge on Deck 4, Mid-ship at 9:40 am, “where you will undergo an antigen Covid-19 rapid test and wait for results”.

I will go into more detail about the whole process shortly, but first, breakfast!

We had booked the same room for both cruises, so we didn’t have to worry about packing our bags to move to another stateroom. We just took what we needed for the morning, and headed down to breakfast at 8:15am

Our restaurant last night was Rapunzel’s Royal Table, and so, that was to be our breakfast location this morning – at the same table number we had been at throughout the cruise.

Oh, and one more thing when you’re checking out – you’ll receive a comment card to fill out – make sure you do and pop it into the box at your designated restaurant or before leaving the ship.

Also, you will have tips added to your stateroom bill (unless you paid in advance with your cruise fare), but if you wish to give more tips to your servers, you can do so by using the envelopes and name slips provided in your room.

Main Dining Room Breakfast: Rapunzel’s Royal Table

Me: Almost Home – Corned Beef Hash, Fried Eggs and Bacon Skillet topped with Fried Onions

Him: Eggs for the Road – Scrambled, Fried or Boiled and served with Hash Browns and your choice of Breakfast Meat (Grilled Sausage, Grilled Ham or Bacon)

Both of Us: Lox and Bagel – A traditional favorite served with Cream Cheese

Rapunzel’s certainly had a different feel this morning, but it’s still a lovely restaurant in the light of day!

We had been asked the night before if we had wanted to be sat at the same table with the same set of servers for our next cruise, or move elsewhere. We were more than happy with the team we had and decided to stay put as it were!

We then had our breakfast order taken and were offered tea/coffee, juice, and pastries.

Sadly, the corned beef has was not like I have had in America, but rather the tinned corned beef we have here in the UK! It was a bit on the too salty side for me too, so I didn’t eat much of it. Steve was happy with his cooked breakfast choice – it was pretty standard.

The bagel and lox (smoked salmon) more than made up though!

The menu for breakfast is the same regardless of which restaurant you are assigned. There is a choice of fruit, yogurt, cereals (hot and cold) waffles (including Mickey Waffles and Belgian Waffles), pancakes, eggs, omelets, and signature dishes (like we had)

The disembarkation letter we received said we would have to stay in the D’Lounge until given clearance at about 11:30 am.

We had some free time till we had to be there so headed up to Deck 4 to go out on the Promenade Deck and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine!

D’Lounge

In the D’Lounge we were asked to confirm our vaccine status, and because we are doubled vaxxed we didn’t need to do another lateral flow test.

We then had to basically sit and wait!

Mickey cartoons were shown on the big screen, and complimentary refreshments were provided. These included tea, coffee, water, juice, pastries, fruit, and sandwiches. Having just had breakfast, only had a drink, however, they then brought out some mini sandwich rolls and it was rude not to partake!

We were then “cleared” at 11 am (earlier than indicated on the letter, handy!) where we could return to our stateroom or wander the ship.

Because it’s between voyages day, the ship is being maintained and cleaned, most of the ship’s facilities would not be available, however, Cove Cafe would be open at 11:30 am, Goofy’s Pool at Midday, and Rapunzel’s for lunch at 1:00 pm.

My understanding is that if you do back-to-back on regular cruises you actually leave the ship and get back on, but this process was unique for the UK Staycations.
