Free Printable Poppy Bunting
Our poppy bunting printable is a set of beautifully designed flags that can be used to honor and remember those who have served and sacrificed.
During Remembrance Day events, poppies honor military members who have died in the line of duty.
Use the bunting flags to create garlands that can be hung indoors (or outdoors if laminated) as a mark of respect for the fallen.
Each design in our printable set carries its own meaning:

What is Remembrance Day?
Remembrance Day is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth member states since the end of the First World War to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty. It is observed on 11 November in most countries to recall the end of hostilities of the First World War on that date in 1918. Hostilities formally ended “at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month”.

100% of the profits from selling poppies go to the Royal British Legion, which helps members of the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, veterans, and their families. Their support starts after one day of service and continues through life long after service is over.

2024 marks the 80th anniversaries of momentous battles and turning points of the Second World War. The D-Day landings of 6th June – the largest seaborne invasion in history – marked the beginning of the liberation of western Europe.

How To Use Poppy Bunting Flags
- Punch holes in the top corners as above, string them up, and hang the bunting where desired.
- Download the free printable file to your device.
- Print as many Paralympic banner flags as you need using a printer on good-quality white paper.
- Cut out the flags carefully using scissors or a paper trimmer.
- Cut a piece of string or ribbon to the desired length (leaving extra at the ends to tie the bunting up).
- Using a single-hole punch, punch holes in each flag’s top right and left corners and thread the holes through onto the string.
- You can laminate your flags if you like so that they last a bit longer—especially if hanging outside.
- Cut the flags first, lay them between laminating sheets, and run them through your laminator.
- Carefully cut around each flag again, leaving a slight outline gap so the laminate stays together.
- Alternatively, cover them with clear contact paper (sticky back plastic in the UK) for durability.

Get Involved
If you are unable to attend a service or other Remembrance Day activities, here are some ideas from the Royal British Legion website:
- Hold a small Remembrance service in your garden.
- Create a Remembrance space in your garden by planting plants that have a connection to Remembrance.
- Use Zoom, Facebook, or another online meeting resource to host an online Remembrance service or activity.
- Use their Remembrance education activities to help children learn about Remembrance.

When should you start wearing a poppy for Remembrance Day?
Many people think wearing a poppy 11 days before Remembrance Day is the best way to honor those impacted by war.
If you wish to do the same, you can start wearing your poppy on October 31st until November 11th.
Poppy Bunting Display Ideas
- At Home: Drape your bunting across windows or mantles to bring remembrance into your living space.
- In Schools or Community Centers: Use the bunting to decorate bulletin boards or communal areas to encourage community participation and awareness.
- Outdoor Gatherings: If you’re hosting a Remembrance Day ceremony, hang your bunting around your garden or entryway for a welcoming and reverent decoration.

Thank you so very much for this! We are trying find lovely things to do with our church kids and this with some verses about peace is beautiful. Our community has a remembrance service outside by the war memorial and our church is held in the hall there, so we host tea and cake afterwards. I know that the childrens contribution with the help of your bunting will touch hearts. Thank you x
