I was chatting with my sister a couple of days ago, and she asked what year the boy was in, in school now. I said “Year 11”, and she was like “noooooo, he’s not in Year 11!” and I said “yup, I have a son in Year 11”, so she said “he’s taking his GCSEs next year then? Noooo”. “Yeah, it doesn’t seem possible does it?!” I replied. And then we started talking about when we were in school and the things we got up to at the ages of 15/16!

So today, I’m sharing a song that got me through my GCSEs – Two Princes by Spin Doctors it was always on the radio at the time of my study leave, and hearing it now takes me right back to my desk, at home, with all of my revision note cards, highlighted with markers!

Welcome to the Sunday Sounds Linky Party!

A long time ago, I shared a favourite song of mine and called the post “Sunday Sounds”. I was going to turn it into a series, but I kept forgetting, and was rather flaky about keeping it up! Here are all of my Sunday Sounds posts, where I would share the memories or the reasons for the song that week. I thought it would be fun to turn it into a blogger linky party, as I know that songs can evoke so many memories!

What can I link up?

Your Sunday Sounds blog post of course! Write a few lines about your chosen song – why you love it, what it reminds you of, what you were doing the first time you heard it…whatever the story is behind the song, whatever the memories behind the song are. You can include a photo too if you like! Make sure you’ve embeded your song into your post, be it from YouTube, Vimeo or somewhere else. Please do not link a video directly.

How many links can I add?

You can add one Sunday Sounds per week. This is an ongoing linky party, so please do come back each week! It will automatically close after 500 links, but that’ll be a while yet! And when that happens, I’ll just start another one.

How do I add a link?

Scroll towards the bottom of this post and you’ll see ‘Click here to enter‘. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Do I have to visit other links?

A linky is all about sharing – so please do try and visit as many links as you can. Perhaps share the post on your favourite social media platform(s) or leave a comment to let the blogger know you stopped by! Sharing is caring after all ♥

Is there a hashtag?

Indeed there is – just use #SundaySounds – that way we can all follow along!

Do you have a button I can grab?

Please feel free to grab the badge below and put it on your Sunday Sounds post if you are linking up! Mention me on Twitter [@MsPurplePumpkin] and I’ll retweet your post too!
