So, back in November I started a series Tips For Organising A Christmas Party, but life got in the way and I just ran out of time to do the sections as I had promised.
Through the trials and tribulations though, I just about managed to pull off a small party at home, which was a combined Christmas and birthday party (for my husband and sister). It didn’t turn out quite the way I had planned, but we had a fab time, and I haven’t laughed so much for ages!
I had planned to be a domestic goddess, making everything from scratch and providing a sumptuous Christmas party feast, but I didn’t have it in me to do that. I ended up buying party food which the supermarkets are stocked full of at this time of year, and to be fair, there are so many interesting and tasty treats, I didn’t feel so guilty at not preparing everything myself.
Party food staples are things like crisps, nuts and cocktail sausages – if all else fails, make sure you have them on the Christmas party table!
We spent the time playing board games which was a riot and had Christmas songs playing the background. Sometimes the smallest of Christmas parties can have the desired festive spirit that is needed!
Create Christmas is an annual series on The Purple Pumpkin Blog where I blog each day with something to cook, craft or create for Christmas. This year I’m also sharing a round-up post with ideas and inspiration from other bloggers. If you’d like to be involved, just check out the Calling All Bloggers post here. Don’t forget to check out the blogger Create Christmas Linky too!
