Halloween Candlesticks

Today I made some organza bows, and after remembering the purple candlesticks I bought a little while back, decided to the bows to the sticks, and voilà…Halloween Candlesticks!
I’m going to show you how to make the bows, and really, what you do with them afterwards is up to you :D You may recognise my Halloween Candles from last week! They now have gorge candlesticks to stand upon!
You will need about a meter of organza ribbon, about 3-4cm wide, and a thinner piece of ribbon, about 30cms long and 1cm wide. I actually cut mine down from a roll of organza that I have.
Wind the ribbon around 3 of your fingers, like shown. Then remove carefully and cut notches on either side of the ribbon.
Using the thinner piece of ribbon, wrap around the middle of the notched ribbon and tie a knot to hold everything together.
Start fanning out the loops to create your bow.
Then, using the excess thinner ribbon, use that to tie around your object – in my case – candlesticks. But you could use longer ribbon, and use these to tie around gifts. Once you know how to make your own bows, you won’t need to worry about buying them ready made again!
