Last weekend, I told you how I had batch cooked some food for my sister and brother-in-law to help them in their first week as new parents. At the same time, I prepared food for us as well, and one of the meals that I got ready well in advance was Freeze Ahead Marinated Pork Chops.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 pork loin chops
  • 4 Tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic crushed
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil

Instructions
 

  • Place the raw meat into a freezer-proof bag, add the ingredients and squish together to get the marinade all over the meat.
  • Place the bag into the freezer.
  • When ready to cook the pork chops, defrost overnight in the fridge.
  • Grill until cooked through and serve with your choice of sides.

Well, I defrosted them yesterday and we had them for dinner last night, and not blowing my own trumpet too much, but they tasted a-ma-zing!

I don’t know if the freezing of them in the marinade helped, but it really penetrated into the meat giving it a great flavour throughout. Since they had a slight oriental vibe to them, I served them up with some egg noodles and vegetables.
