I bought some baby vests a while ago, knowing that I wanted to use them to decorate with at the Pink Flavoured Baby Shower that I hosted for my sister and brother-in-law. I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to do with them, so they sat in a bag for a while before I realised I could buy some transfer paper and put my own design on them! So that’s what I did!

I bought some transfer paper from eBay and created my design in PaintShopPro before printing off and applying to each vest. I kept with my pink polka dot theme that I used throughout the shower, and put some cute characters on each letter too.

It was simple enough to decorate the vests, and you could easily do exactly the same for onesies/babygros or any item of clothing! I am hooked!

You have to remember to print off with the image flipped so that it appears the right-side around when you iron on the transfer…you then (according to the instructions on the the paper) cut around the design, leaving a 5mm gap. I didn’t bother to cut out the centres of each letter. Too much hassle!

I then centred the letter on the front, and again, following the instructions to use the hottest setting on my iron and to iron on a hard surface on top of a tea-towel, I begun to iron the transfer on. I did this for about 90 seconds, and left it to cool whilst I moved onto the next vest.

Once the fabric and transfer have cooled down, it’s time to carefully pull back the paper to reveal the design!

Ta-dah!!! I was so pleased with how the first one turned out, I couldn’t wait to reveal all the rest!

Aren’t they just so cute? I loved them!

I then suspended some string across the corner of my living room and pegged each vest to spell out ‘baby’. So sweet :)

How did I decorate the pegs? I had some old fashioned wooden pegs in my craft stash, as well as some pink ribbon and simply tied the ribbon around the top of each clothes pin into a bow.
