Cutlery & Napkin Bundles

Often, throughout my trawls the internet, I see this cute stuff called washi tape. I’ve never heard of it before, but soon learned that it is a fabric tape that you can use to decorate all sorts of things. I searched on eBay thinking I probably wouldn’t find it in the UK – but I was wrong! I bought some pink and white polka dot washi tape to use for my sister’s Pink Flavoured Baby Shower.

I ended up using the tape by wrapping it round the handles of wooden cutlery, that I then bundled up with a napkin and a custom napkin ring that I designed. Very cute!

I started by rolling up pink napkins, and securing with a paper ring I printed out. I then attached a topper to the front of the ring that I also designed and punched out using my circle craft punch.

With the napkins all rolled and secured, it was cutlery decorating time! I cut lengths of washi tape and peeling off the plastic backing, wrapped them around the end of each piece of cutlery.

I bought wooden cutlery (also from eBay – gotta love that website!), and they look very plain without the tape around the bottom.

The pink and white polka dot washi tape pretties them up! I find wooden cutlery to be more durable that the plastic junk, and I think it looks nicer too.

Placing a knife, spoon and fork on top of one another, I slotted each set of cutlery into the paper napkin ring, and there we have it – cute cutlery and napkin bundles for a baby shower!
