Day 5 – Cook, Craft, Create: December 2012
For day 5 of Cook, Craft, Create: December: 2012 I have created a Christmas Shadow Box…filled with mini jingle bells…such a simple thing to do, yet looks so pretty!
I’ve been wanting to create my own shadow box for a while now, and making one to decorate at Christmas seemed like the ideal opportunity!
I bought a shadow box from the craft shop, and already had a box of mini jingle bells and gifts that I bought a few years ago (I can’t remember where from now). I also decided to use some pretty Christmas scrapbook paper to put at the back of the box.
Make sure that your shadow box is deep enough for what you’re going to put inside…I originally was going to put mini ornaments inside, but they were too big >_<
So, first things first, I half filled my shadow box with the mini jingle bells.
I then printed the words “jingle bells” onto my chosen scrapbook paper and cut down to size by tracing around the board backing. I then stuck that down with some double-sided tape to the board.
Put the board back in place and shake around to get the bells to lie where they need to be…display on a mantel or window ledge and your Christmas Shadow Box is good to go! I love mine!
