I was going to make something else for day 8 of Crafty October, but as we are decorating at home, everything is everywhere, and I just couldn't find what I needed in the stacks of boxes! What I did find, however, was some wooden ice-lolly sticks, so I took out some rubber stamps and ink, grabbed some raffia and created some plant markers for when I grow my own veggies next spring!
| Why yes, they are plastic pumpkins! |
I tied a length of raffia about half way down the ice-lolly stick, just to add a bit of interest really. I then stamped a variety of different veggie names onto the end of the stick (I worked backwards from the end!)
They seem to take forever to dry! I'm not a rubber stamp aficionado, so maybe I need a special ink to stamp onto wood?! But any way, several hours later, and I've carefully painted some varnish over the top to help seal them from the elements.
I didn't grow pumpkins this year *sad face* but I thought it would be fun to show a plant marker in action!
Have fun creating your own plant markers :) As always, I would love to see your creations! You can share over on The Purple Pumpkin Blog's Facebook Page, and you are always welcome to post your link at my current Link Party!
