New Years Eve Poster

I created this poster back in 2012 and have been updating it every year since then! So here it is updated to say goodbye to the old year and welcome in the new!

I’m pretty sure ALL of us are ready to say goodbye to 2021 and hope that 2022 will be a much better year!

The chalkboard style poster has the lyrics to Auld Lang Syne, that song that we all sing as the bells chime in the new year, as well as a clock face, and the new year squashing out the old!

Should auld acquaintance be forgot, and never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot, and auld lang syne.
For auld lang syne my dear, for auld lang syne.
We’ll take a cup of kindness yet, for auld lang syne.

“Auld Lang Syne” is a Scots-language poem written by Robert Burns in 1788 and set to the tune of a traditional folk song (Roud # 6294). It is well known in many countries, especially in the English-speaking world, its traditional use being to bid farewell to the old year at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Eve.Wikipedia

As with [most of] my printables, they come in two paper sizes – A4 and US Letter (8.5 x 11″). You’ll find them further down the page surrounded by a purple box. Download the size suitable for your printer.

Read my retro blog post from 2011 (the year that I started The Purple Pumpkin Blog) where I walked through the setting up of our New Year’s Eve 2011 Party.

I’m sure we’ll just have a quiet celebration this year with just me and hubby, and my son if he’s not working.

We might not be able to have a big family gathering, but we can still celebrate the end of 2021!

If you want some New Year’s party food inspiration these posts have some yummy ideas:

I know some are listed for Christmas, but they will totally suit NYE parties too!
