Dessert Station
Home » CELEBRATE » Party Planning »Desserts are always so easy at parties! I always do more sweet treats than savoury…for my sister’s Cocktails & Dreams Hen Party I would say I had an even balance of savoury and sweet…maybe…!
Even though I love making cupcakes, I didn’t make these ones, but bought them from the supermarket instead. Why? Cos I was lazy this week :P There was lime & coconut, strawberries & cream and banoffee pie flavours. I prettied them up by inserting a cocktail umbrella into them – instant tropical stylin’!! They were lovely cupcakes, with a nice surprise filling in the centre. I also had some sushi rolling mats which I laid out to sit the cupcakes on, they fit the theme well doncha think?!
I set up the dessert station in one corner of my kitchen. Oh how I long for the day when I have nice walls!
You can see my Pineapple & Coconut Upside Down Cake at the back – yum, yum, yum!!
I put more cocktail umbrellas into the cute ice-cream sundae glasses I bought, along with a sundae spoon. Ice-cream was in the freezer ;) I had various toppings for the ice-cream – sauces, cherries (that I forgot to hide away when taking this pic!), banana chips, coconut flakes and wafers. Dessert lovers heaven!
I thought I’d also slot this photo in here, the cutlery/napkin bundles that I made up for the party food. These are seriously my new favourite party thing! Decorating wooden cutlery, then tying together with a paper napkin – easy to store and easy for guests to pick up :)
