We've had some very good weather in the UK over recent weeks - summer finally arrived, yet the season is almost over! A couple Friday's ago my dad came over and asked if we could have a barbecue as he enjoyed our homemade burgers so much! So it was all arranged for Saturday 11th August...that night (10th) we unexpectedly won tickets to go back to the Olympics so the barbecue was postponed until the Sunday instead.
As it really was a last minute thing, and knowing we would be knackered from a full day at the Olympic Park, I wanted to make sure that it was quick and easy, so all I (well, my hubby made them) made was my Juicy Handmade Hamburgers and my Roasted Vegetable and Orzo Salad. I did manage to cut up a salad as well ;)

We are a family that needs dessert, so I made the quickest, easiest dessert I know - Eton Mess.

And hubby and bro-in-law decided to grill some fruit on the barbecue, including yummy bananas, which always taste good hot!
The pressure was completely off, as everything was prepared simply and quickly, and left me time to sit back and enjoy the afternoon in the August sunshine with my family.
