My Christmas Lunch Table Decor

I’m trying to get all my Christmas posts in before the new year…unlike last year when I was still posting about Christmas well into January!
So, for day 27 of Cook, Craft, Create: December: 2012 here is my Christmas lunch table decor and how I set it up for our family lunch….I know last year I showed step-by-step how things came together, but being so busy this year, I just didn’t get the opportunity.
Since there were more of us for lunch this year, I had to add on a table at the end – slightly lower in height but just about managed to get away with it!
I covered the table with a white table cloth and then a purple one – mainly since I was having to cover a larger area than normal and it looked funny with just the one table cloth. I then placed a black runner down the centre and some mats to protect the table from the heat of the serving dishes.
The place setting for each person was a white dinner plate, a starter plate, and then a white cup and saucer for the soup starter.
Keeping with my Christmas colours this year, I designed a menu and a place name card for each person. The place name cards were slotted into some shop bought holders – cute little baubles.
Here is the menu that we had for lunch, I’ll be sharing some of the recipes from it in the coming days!
On the side plate was a rolled up napkin, secured with my spiral napkin holders, a homemade Christmas cracker, a candy cane and a praline chocolate.
I didn’t bother with a centerpiece as I knew there would be zero room on the table once all the dishes came out! Instead I bought some giant glass gems which I scattered across the table.
I can’t wait until one day we move to a bigger house with a dining room so we don’t all have to squeeze around a small table!
