Printable Turkey Craft
The holidays are here and you need a project to keep the kids from complaining they are bored. Why not break out this awesome turkey craft for them to do? It’s great for Christmas or Thanksgiving!
They will be able to practice cutting out shapes as well as folding strips of paper accordion-style to make the legs for the turkey!
TOP TIP! Print my craft templates in advance and store them in a folder so that you can grab them at a moment’s notice.
Speaking of a moment’s notice, create a box of basic craft supplies so you can get started on projects with minimal fuss.

Materials & Tools Used in This Craft
Full instructions are found in the printable tutorial card at the end of this post, but here is a quick outline so you know what to expect from the craft.
I highly recommend always reading everything all the way through before starting any project so you understand all the steps required.
A few simple craft supplies are needed for this paper turkey craft:
- Construction Paper in the following colors:
- Glue Stick
- Scissors
- Black Marker
- Crayons
- Turkey Printable Template – as with [most of] my free printables, this is available in two different sizes – A4 and US Letter (8.5″ x 11″). You’ll find the downloads below, surrounded by a purple box.
Printable Turkey Craft Tips
- I’ve got several step-by-step photos in the how-to card to guide you through making this fun craft.
- There is also a slideshow video over on my YouTube channel that you can watch and save to your Playlists for future reference. (Don’t forget to subscribe while you are there!)
- Print the template onto the suggested colored paper or cardstock and cut the pieces out. (But you could use any colors you want!)
- If construction paper or card won’t go through your printer, you could print onto regular paper and trace around the pieces onto the colored paper/card.
- Another option is to print onto white paper and color the pieces in with crayons, pens, paints or pencils.
- Or what about making this reindeer using craft foam? Lots of options for this holiday activity!
- Use the photos as a guide and stick the pieces in place with a glue stick.
- Draw on the eyes with a black marker pen.
- Cut 2″/5cm wide strips of paper and make accordion folds to create the legs of the turkey. Make them as long as you like!
- An optional extra is adding glitter: apply white school glue to the parts you want to add some sparkle, sprinkle glitter on top, shake off the excess and leave to dry.
- You could also use other embellishments like googly eyes, or even colorful feathers to bring this craft to life.
- If you want to hang up your completed turkey, use a piece of ribbon or string to form a hanging loop and stick to the back.

This free printable turkey paper craft is so cute for winter and the holidays!

- Construction Paper in the following colors:
- Light Brown
- Dark Brown
- Red
- Green
- Orange
- Yellow
- Glue Stick
- Black Marker
- Pink Crayon
Tools
- Scissors
Instructions
- Download the turkey template (link in the blog post) and print it onto the suggested color construction paper. Cut pieces out.
- Stick the pieces together to form the turkey.
- Cut two strips of brown paper 2"/5cm wide and fold accordion-style to create the legs, then stick the feet on the ends. Glue the legs to the body.
- Draw the eyes with a black marker.
- Optional extras include adding glitter and/or a ribbon loop to hang up the turkey.
