What Is In The Choir Boy Printable Template?
Your download includes all the pieces to assemble a range of different Choir Boys:
- Head and Body (our buildable characters have this combined with ears and facial features, with three skin tones included)
- Arms
- Shoes
- Choir Robes and Sleeves (three pieces in red, green, and blue)
- Hair (black, brown, blonde, orange, and red)
- Song Book
There are two sizes:
- Regular—with all the pieces on one sheet of paper to create a character around 4″/10cm tall.
- Large—with the pieces spread over several sheets to create a character around 12″/30cm tall.
With the easy-to-cut pieces, this craft is beginner-friendly and great for little hands.
Teachers can use this activity in lessons, music rooms, or Sunday school to get students into the holiday spirit. It’s also a fantastic way to introduce children to choir-related themes and music!
For those who love to add their personal touch, we also have a black-and-white version available in the Purple Pumpkin Printables shop. Kids can color it in, making each Choir Boy unique. This version stimulates creativity and fun when engaging in independent work or group activities.
How To Use the Build a Choir Boy Printable
- Download the high-quality PDF file at the end of this post and print as many copies as you need onto white (printer) paper. For best results, use good quality, thick/heavy paper.
- Alternatively, you can use the pieces as a template to trace onto coloured paper or card stock.
- You can print the free printable at home, school, office, or a Print Shop. Then, cut the pieces out with scissors.
- The Christmas Choir Boy printables are suitable for children of all ages; however, the regular-size free template is ideal for older children who are more skilled at cutting or those looking to hone their fine motor skills.
- The large size should be a lot easier for younger children—or you can cut them out for them. You know your children, so you will know what suits them best.
- Once cut, arrange the pieces to determine where everything goes before sticking them in place with a glue stick or sticky tape.
- We like using this roller glue because it is easy to use and has less sticky mess!
Craft Projects Using our Free Printable Choir Boy Templates
- Adding Dimension: Mount the cut-outs onto a larger piece of black construction paper and use other craft materials to embellish it. For example, glitter, craft foam, or tissue paper, to name a few. It’s a perfect activity for art class.
- Laminating: This fun Christmas craft is still possible for tiny kids who can’t yet use scissors! Use a laminator to laminate the printable and cut out each bat shape, leaving a slight margin around them. Then, add Velcro Dots to assemble without cutting or gluing.
- Moveable Figure: Construct the Choir Boy using split pins/brads instead of glue to make it moveable.
- Everybody Loves Puppets: Grab some popsicle sticks and the regular-sized free printable to make little puppets for role-playing or storytelling.
- Festive Decorations: Attach several Choir Boys to some ribbon or string and hang them as bunting. They would make incredible decorations for a party or to hang around your classroom. Add black paper to the back of each one for a neater finish.
- Choir Boy Mobile: Similar to the previous idea, assemble several Choir Boys and glue them back to back with some ribbon in between. Hang them at different lengths on a wire hanger, and you will have made a cute decoration.
- Greeting Cards: Mount the small template onto a blank card to make cute holiday cards.
- Educational Tool: Use the large template in music lessons or to teach about Christmas traditions. It’s a fun way to make learning about other cultures and traditions more engaging.
- Roll-A-Choir Boy Game: This idea is based on the classic dice game and is so much fun to play—especially for young children!
- To set up, print, and cut enough pieces for each player, assign a number to each piece—for example, Body (1), Arms and Sleeves (2), Robe (3), Hair (4), Shoes (5), Song Book (6).
- After rolling the die, the player picks up the corresponding piece to build their CHoir Boys. If players roll a number for a piece they already have, they skip their turn. The winner is the first player to collect all the parts and assemble them!
