Seafood Platter
Home » COOK » Recipes » Meat & Fish Recipes » Fish & Seafood Recipes »Christmas in July continues today with one of the starters that I put together – a seafood platter. For me, Christmas dinner isn’t Christmas dinner without prawn cocktail for starter! But to switch things up a bit in 2012, I bought some yummy seafood and put it all on a platter for us to share.

I covered one of my Jamie Oliver platters with shredded lettuce, then began placing the seafood! Lobster tails (it was Christmas after all!), prawns, smoked salmon, shredded crab sticks, poached salmon, and salmon mousse adorned the plate, a fish lover’s delight! I finished it with lemon wedges and served some crusty bread on the side. Or why not throw those lobster tails on the grill? Check out Kitchen Pro for a guide to grilling the perfect lobster tails.
Sharing a platter like this is a great idea if you have a number of friends coming over. It’s a little different from the usual pizza and nachos, and it makes the food a talking point instead of just background. This is a particularly good idea as we head towards the latter end of the year and the Christmas holidays. Putting together lobster tail portions for a holiday menu is a great way to show everyone you’re a keen chef and treat them to a truly memorable evening of food.
