I have a 700D and I love it. I think that once you have some lenses then you will never look back. I also have a smaller camera for when I need something lighter

I’ve just bought a telephoto lens, and a wide angle one – a macro is next on my list. I had some vouchers to use, so was able to cover the cost of those, which helped. My “small” camera will always be my Lumix, may even upgrade that to the next model, it’s a great camera, and fared me well over the years.

I have the 70D after I upgraded from the 1100D after three years use (my husband uses this now). I do like the camera and find some bits of it are better than than the 1100D whilst others are more long-winded. The exposure compensation menu takes longer to get to on the 70D which is a bit annoying when you are trying to bracket several photographs.

I’ve got nothing to compare to, so going in completely blind. I often wonder, with certain features if the makers realise that they are making things more complicated than they need to!

I’ve always enjoyed your photography and it sounds like you made a very considered purchase with the new DSLR. Good luck in learning all its bells and whistles and I’m sure you will have many more amazing shots for us very soon!!

Thank you Nadine! I know you’ve always championed me, and I’ve always been very grateful for that – I’m very much the self doubter, as you know! I actually bought 2 new lenses at the weekend (I can see this new camera of mine becoming quite the financial investment!) but it was good to see what they could do. I’ve always been spoiled in one sense with my other camera, as it had such a great super zoom on it – and I confess to missing that already – but time will tell! I sat down in front of a video tutorial on YouTube, and having someone explain to me what each thing does and why was great – it’s how I learn the best. I’m no good at reading something to learn a new skill, I need that visual. Hope my future pics don’t disappoint ;)
