How to Make Pot of Gold

Rainbow & Pot of Gold Craft

This St. Patrick's Day, why not make this rainbow and Pot of Gold Craft? It's a fun, simple activity that the kids will love to help make!

Materials

  • Pipe Cleaners/Chenille Stems – Rainbow Colors Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, Violet
  • Plastic Pots/Cauldrons
  • Paper Shred any color
  • Gold Foil Chocolate Coins
  • Green Marker Pen
  • Mini White Price Tags
  • Black and White Bakers Twine

Instructions
 

  • Remove the handle from the plastic pot (they just pop out).

  • Select seven rainbow colors of pipe cleaner, and line them in order.

  • Starting in the middle with the 4th color pipe cleaner, attach each color to the top flat edge of the plastic pot with the glue gun and glue sticks.  Use the seam on the side of the pot as a guide.

  • Once the glue is cooled and set, carefully bend each chenille stem and attach it to the opposite side of the plastic pot.




  • Finished Pipe Cleaner Rainbow
  • Write the recipient’s name in a green marker on the mini price tag. 


    Writing on Tag
  • Thread tag onto baker’s twine and tie around the top of the pot.  Tie in a knot or a bow and trim ends, if necessary.
  • Fill the plastic pot with paper shred and gold foil-wrapped chocolate candy coins.
