Ingredients

For the Strawberry Daiquiri

  • 2 oz Simple Syrup to taste
  • cups fresh strawberries hulled
  • ¼ cup fresh lime juice
  • 4 oz light rum
  • 6-8 large ice cubes

For the Piña Colada

  • 2 oz Simple Syrup to taste
  • 2 cups frozen pineapple chunks*
  • 8 oz pineapple juice
  • cup coconut cream
  • 4 oz light rum
  • 6-8 ice cubes

Optional Garnish

  • Whole strawberries
  • Pineapple wedges

Instructions

  • To make the Strawberry Daiquiri, place the strawberries, lime juice, rum, and simple syrup into a blender and blend until smooth.
  • While the blender is still running, add the ice a little at a time until thoroughly combined. Turn the blender off and remove the lid. Taste and add additional simple syrup, if desired, and blend for another 30 seconds to combine.
  • Transfer to a freezer-safe container, and place in the freezer while you make the Piña Colada.
  • Rinse the blender thoroughly.
  • To make the Piña Colada, place the frozen pineapple, pineapple juice, coconut cream, rum, and simple syrup into a blender and blend until smooth.
  • While the blender is still running, add the ice a little at a time until the desired consistency is reached. Turn the blender off and remove the lid. Taste and add additional simple syrup, if desired, and blend for another 30 seconds to combine.
  • Fill each hurricane glass approximately ¼ full with the Strawberry Daiquiri mixture and top it off with a layer of the Piña Colada mixture until the glass is half full. Layering Tip: After adding the first layer, slowly pour each subsequent layer over the back of a large spoon. This will help create distinct layers while the bright red from the strawberries slowly wicks into the lighter pina colada to create beautiful patterns.
  • Repeat this process again and garnish with fresh strawberries and/or a wedge of fresh pineapple before serving. Enjoy!
