When ready to make the frozen margaritas, remove the prepared layers from the freezer.
If you want to add a salt or sugar rim to your glasses, pour some salt (or sugar) onto a plate. Rub the lime wedge around the rim of four (8oz) glasses. Dip the glass rims into the salt (or sugar) and twist. Remove and set aside.
To build the margaritas, use a small ice cream scoop to scoop each of the colored frozen layers into the prepared glasses.
Layer the colors in order of red, white, and blue, and use a straw or long spoon to swirl the layers as desired.
Garnish with a slice of lime and festive swizzle sticks. Enjoy!
