Ingredients

For the Frosting

  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar icing sugar
  • 5 Tbsp heavy cream double cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Brown food coloring gel
  • 1 tube/pouch of chocolate premade decorating frosting
  • 1 tube/pouch of red premade decorating frosting
  • Christmas Sprinkles

Sweet Dippers

  • Christmas cookies
  • Vanilla wafers
  • Oreos
  • Chocolate chip cookies
  • Oatmeal cookies
  • Rice Krispies treats
  • Graham crackers
  • Jordan almonds
  • Holiday M&Ms
  • Candy canes

Instructions

  • To make the frosting, place the butter into a mixing bowl and use a stand or hand mixer to beat on high speed for 2-3 minutes until pale and fluffy
  • Add powdered sugar half a cup at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Add heavy cream one tablespoon at a time and beat in the vanilla extract to combine. (See Note 1)
  • Scoop ¾ cup white frosting into a large piping bag. Set it aside.
  • Mix a few drops of brown food coloring gel into the bowl of remaining frosting and beat until you reach a light shade of brown. Scoop the brown frosting into another large piping bag.
  • Use a 9" x 13" rimmed baking sheet as your frosting board, and pipe the outline of Mickey Mouse's head in the center. (See Note 2). Add the remaining frosting to the inside of the outline and use an offset spatula to spread it into an even layer.
  • Use the white frosting to pipe an outline of "icing drips" over the top of Mickey's head and ears. Fill in and spread into an even layer. Add a sprinkle of Christmas sprinkles to the white frosting.
  • Using the chocolate premade frosting, pipe Mickey's eyes, nose, and mouth onto Mickey's head. Use the red frosting to pipe rosy cheeks on either side of his mouth. (See Note 3)
  • Fill the tray with your desired selection of sweet dippers. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  1. You want the frosting to be stiff but spreadable. If the frosting is too thin, add additional powdered sugar. Mix in a little heavy whipping cream if the frosting is too stiff.
  2. You can use a template and edible food pen to trace the outline first.
  3. You can store the frosted Mickey Mouse in the fridge until ready to serve. Remove 30-60 minutes to come to room temperature before adding dippers and serving.
