Materials
Blue acrylic paint
Red acrylic paint
White acrylic paint

wood slices
Raffia
TOOLS
Small foam brush
Small paintbrush for writing letters
A drill or wood burning tool to make a second hole
Scissors
Instructions
Drill or burn a second hole into each wood slice – opposite the pre-drilled hole.
Paint one piece of wood red, one white, and the last one blue. Leave to dry.
When dry, paint on the letters: white wood piece: red “U”, red wood piece: blue “S”, blue wood piece: white “A”. Leave to dry once again.
When fully dry, line the pieces up in order from top to bottom – U, S, A – and tie together with raffia. Snip off any excess.
Tie the bottom of the “U” to the top of the “S”
Tie the bottom of the “S” to the top of the “A”
Tie a loop to the top of the “U” so that you can hang the wooden sign up.
Notes
Adult supervision may be required. Adult should drill holes into wood slices if kids are making this craft.
