Materials

  • Brown Acrylic Craft Paint
  • Small Metal Bucket
  • Craft Felt – Yellow Red, Orange
  • Googly Eyes
  • Small Luggage Tag
  • Natural Jute Twine
  • Brown Shredded Crinkled Paper
  • Jumbo Colored Craft Sticks

Instructions

  • Paint the outside of the metal bucket with brown acrylic craft paint. Set aside to dry and apply a second coat, if necessary.

Step 1 - Paint the Bucket
  • Cut out a triangle beak shape from yellow craft felt, a wiggly waddle shape from red craft felt, and two turkey feet shapes from orange craft felt. Attach two googly eyes and felt features to the turkey bucket with a glue gun. If you don’t have craft felt, use colored paper or sheets of craft foam.

Step 2 - Cut Felt Features
  • Step 2 - Felt Pieces Stuck to Bucket
  • Write “I am THANKFUL for…” on a small shipping tag with a black marker. Tie tag onto the handle of the turkey bucket with a 10” length of natural jute twine and finish with a bow. Fill the bucket with shredded crinkled paper.

    Step 3 - Adding Tag
  • Write thankful questions onto 15 colored jumbo craft sticks. Write with a pencil first before going over with a permanent black marker. Use the thankful prompts listed in the photo or make up your own based upon what is important to your family.

  • Place all 15 colored jumbo craft sticks in the thankful turkey bucket using the crinkled paper shred to hold them in place. They become the turkey feathers!
