Handy Tips & More Ideas

  • Use glitter cardstock instead of glitter foam if that's what you have available.
  • Swap the twine for ribbon in patriotic colors.
  • Change the paint colors and embellishments to create other flag designs. Try state flags, country flags, sports team colors, school spirit decorations, or seasonal color combinations for different holidays throughout the year.
  • Add stickers, rhinestones, or wooden embellishments for extra personality.
  • Create matching sets for Memorial Day, Veterans Day, or Labor Day celebrations.
  • Display the finished flags on shelves, tiered trays, mantels, or entryway tables.
  • Can't find mini pallets? You can make this craft using wooden craft sticks, too.
