Notes
If you want a little kick added to your Italian seasoning, add ½ teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes.
Want a garlic or onion flavor addition? Add a teaspoon of garlic powder and a teaspoon of onion powder.
If you can't find marjoram in your area, you can order it online or simply exclude it from the recipe altogether.
No need to replace the marjoram as it won't ruin your seasoning mix, you’ll just end up with only 8 tablespoons instead of the recipe's 8 tablespoons.
You can use your homemade seasoning in recipes exactly as you would if you had bought it ready-made from a store. If a recipe calls for 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning, you can use the same amount of your own mix.
For a slightly different flavor, you can also add ½ tablespoon of dried sage.
