Notes

  • If you want a little kick added to your Italian seasoning, add ½ teaspoon of crushed red pepper flakes.
  • Want a garlic or onion flavor addition? Add a teaspoon of garlic powder and a teaspoon of onion powder.
  • If you can't find marjoram in your area, you can order it online or simply exclude it from the recipe altogether.
  • No need to replace the marjoram as it won't ruin your seasoning mix, you’ll just end up with only 8 tablespoons instead of the recipe's 8 tablespoons.
  • You can use your homemade seasoning in recipes exactly as you would if you had bought it ready-made from a store. If a recipe calls for 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning, you can use the same amount of your own mix.
  • For a slightly different flavor, you can also add ½ tablespoon of dried sage.
