Easy Eggnog Recipe

Ingredients

  • 12 large eggs
  • cups granulated sugar
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 12 cups whole milk
  • 3 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups brandy
  • ½ cup rum
  • 2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Cinnamon sticks - for garnish optional
  • Star anise - for garnish optional

Instructions

  • Crack the eggs into a large mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer or whisk until light and fluffy.
  • Continue beating while gradually adding the sugar and salt. Beat until sugar is dissolved.
  • Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
  • Add brandy and rum to personal taste and stir.
  • Sprinkle with ground nutmeg before serving.
  • Can be refrigerated up to 24 hours before serving. or stored, covered, in the fridge for 6 days.
  • Serve in glasses sprinkled with nutmeg. Add a cinnamon stick or star anise as a pretty garnish if desired.

Notes

This recipe uses raw eggs.
