Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 cup 8oz/225g unsalted butter, room temperature
  • ½ cup 4oz/100g cocoa powder
  • cups 16oz/450g powdered sugar
  • 1-2 Tbsp whole milk or heavy cream
  • 1 tsp real vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Using an electric mixer, mix the butter and cocoa powder in a large bowl until well blended.
  • Add the powdered sugar to the bowl and mix on low speed until all of the sugar is combined.
  • Stir in milk and vanilla extract, if using, to reach desired consistency.
  • Use in recipes as required.
