Indulge in the smoky flavors of these BBQ Portobello Mushroom Burgers! Grilled to perfection and topped with all the classic fixings, they're a vegetarian delight.
4large portobello mushroomscleaned and stems removed
1Tbspolive oil
4TbspBBQ sauce
4hamburger buns
4Tbspmayonnaise
8lettuce leaves
1large tomatothinly sliced
1small red onionthinly sliced
2-3picklesthinly sliced
Sea salt and black pepperto taste
Instructions
Preheat your grill to approximately medium-high heat.
Brush the mushrooms on both sides with olive oil and grill for 4-5 minutes on each side until just fork-tender.
Brush the mushrooms with BBQ sauce and season to taste with salt and pepper. Grill 1-2 minutes on each side and transfer to a warmed plate. Set them aside.
Spread a tablespoon of mayonnaise on each burger bun (you can toast the buns if you wish). Top each bun with a BBQ grilled mushroom, lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, red onion, and pickles as desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
