Bacon & Cheese Stuffed Burgers

Ingredients

  • 500 g beef mince
  • ½ white onion finely chopped
  • 4 rashers streaky bacon chopped
  • salt & pepper
  • 100 g cheddar cheese grated
  • 4 burger buns
  • your choice of toppings - e.g. ketchup, mustard, relish, onion, lettuce, tomato

Instructions

  • Divide the cheese into 4 (25g) portions and form into small balls.
  • In a bowl, mix the beef mince, onion, chopped bacon. Season to your preference with salt and pepper. Divide into 4 (125g) portions.
  • Flatten each portion of the burger mix slightly and add one ball of cheese to each. Pull the meat up and around the cheese to encase it in a ball and then using your hands or a burger press, form a patty.
  • Grill on the barbecue or under a grill for 5-6 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  • Serve on burger buns with your choice of toppings.
