In reply to Miss Tracy Hanson. Thanks for sharing in such detail! When I was a kid, my parents ran a pub. One of the part time bar maids used to work in the factory that made Sindy clothes - I used to get so many outfits for my Sindy dolls from her!

I had three:

I had several large bin bags full of Sindys, not Barbies that were my cousins and I used to play with them when I went. One Christmas when we visited I went to the cupboard only to be told that they had been sold. Didn’t bother me too much as there was always plenty of stuff to do. But come Christmas Day it was very apparent that they had been sold to Santa for me! Was absolutely over the moon and think we still have a lot of them left.

I also have a dog which was made from scraps of material by my Grandma. She had been allowed to bring bits of material home from where she used to work and had stitched him for me. Promptly named Rags, he’s still at the top of my bookcase and all that’s showing his age is the fact that his red collar is not as bright any more. Considering he’s about 40 years old, I don’t think that’s bad going.

I also had doll who walked with you if you held her hand. She was named Rosemary after the lady who bought me her (and was my babysitter). She’s definitely still here too and sat in the conservatory where I am now.
