What A World? #LoveIsLove
Home » Lifestyle »I am not writing a “My Week That Was” this week, because I don’t have the mental energy to do so.
This past weekend, the news has been filled with hate, terror and murder, including the mass shooting at an LGBT club in Orlando, Florida.
It’s hard to avoid the news. It’s hard to not feel sadness, and shock when these terrible, hate-fuelled things happen – even if we are not directly linked, or involved.
I don’t want to live in a world that seems so full of hate. I want it to be a world full of love…. or maybe I am a dreamer.
There is a reason why I don’t write about current affairs on my blog.
It is because so much of it is filled with all the bad in humanity, and I just can’t wrap my head around it.
I cannot understand how there is so much hate for our fellow human.
It feels like nearly every day, the news reports more and more acts of hate and violence.
There is suffering, extremism, racism, homophobia, rape, murder, fascism, war, guns, religion, terrorism, crime, famine, oppression, politics, drought, poverty, lies… it goes on and on. How did we as humanity come to all this?
What a world?
I’m closing out with one of the most uplifting songs that I know. #LoveIsLove

It’s an absolute tragedy and the world we live in seems to be getting worse – I just can’t understand how people can do these sorts of things. x x

I couldn’t have said it better myself.
I am, shamefully, trying to hide from the reality of all this awfulness and hate in the world. It makes me so sad and I feel like I can’t do anything to change it. I’m not a politician or a great power of some other kind, what can I do?
Nothing. Nothing other than love and continue to preach love to my friends and family.

I try to not listen/watch the news – it tears me apart – but it’s so unavoidable as it is everywhere these days, thanks to social media – which is both a blessing and a curse.
All we as individuals can do is love. I know that a world wide love-in is just a fantasy ideology, but I think it is needed. Never more have I felt like the world is going to absolute sh!t

Mice and rats are called vermin. Yet sadly we humans are the vermin of the planet. We should really take note of how animals behave and then we may begin to understand the meaning of life.

From the words of one of my favourite songs:
Animals and children tell the truth, they never lie
Which one is more human
There’s a thought, now you decide

This has made me so sad. Love is love and I am appalled at what has happened. I have chatted to my boys about it. It is a horrible world at the moment

Extremely horrible – I don’t know if this sort of hate and sadness has always been there, or if I notice it more now that I’m older, and that social media makes things more readily available to read…
