It’s another Thursday during #100DaysOfDisney so it’s time for Theme Park Thursday!

I’m such a sit on the fence type of gal that I can never commit to saying which Walt Disney World park is my favourite. I love them all for different reasons.

I love taking photographs, as you will well know, and I was blown away the very first time we visited Animal Kingdom in 2011. Like pretty much all theme parks, it is split into different zones and each one is so well themed. I’m focusing on the Asia area, which I think is just stunning! You could almost be on the other side of the world.

With the majestic Expedition Everest on the horizon, the flowers and plants, the little attention to details, I think it is one of the most stunning areas of Disney themeing in Animal Kingdom. And I really do love a well themed park!

I’m just going to share my photos that I took on that first trip and you will see for yourself how gorgeous it is!

Asia - Animal Kingdom

The attractions in Asia are Flights of Wonder, Maharajah Jungle Trek, Kali River Rapids (prepare to get soaked!) and Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain.

We have been on Kali River Rapids (several times in succession!) which was so much fun. The line was non-existent and we kept riding with the same family. We were drenched by the end of that!

We’ve tried to go on Expedition Everest a couple of times, but due to lightning storms, it was closed – perhaps this year…and it just goes to show you can’t fit everything in, we’ve not seen Flights of Wonder (a bird show) or been through Maharajah Jungle Trek (where you can see exotic animals including tigers and komodo dragons)

These photographs are from our 2011 trip. Looking at my 2013 photos, it doesn’t look like we ventured much into Animal Kingdom’s Asia…must rectify that this year!
