We all face stresses in life – from little things like the kids not putting their shoes on for school when you’re already running late, or finding out the train you need to catch for work has been cancelled; to big stress creators like starting (or losing) a job, or taking your driving test. Modern life just seems to come bundled with a lot of stress doesn’t it?
More than 80 per cent of homeowners say that buying or selling a house is stressful – making it the toughest life event that we all have to face.
The statistic came out of a survey conducted by We Buy Any Home, which saw more than 1,000 homeowners across the country quizzed for their views. The infographic that they have put together to display the results of their survey makes for interesting reading. Having tried to sell our house a few years ago (unsuccessfully) I know I am not in any rush to do it again soon (even though I am desperate to move).
With everything going on in my life at the moment, I can relate to the 18% of women in the survey, that feel stress in their daily lives. And the alarm which has been sounding off for the past 20 minutes isn’t helping that stress… And we are one of the 40% UK homeowners who have considered selling up and moving abroad.
As for de-stressing, some people exercise, drink alcohol, eat, or watch television. The only way I can do it, (and I know it sounds so silly for a 40-ish woman to say), but is to watch cartoons, and play games on my iPad. I don’t have to think about anything, just let my inner child come out!
What can you relate to in the infographic? And what do you do to de-stress?
