The Procrastinating Blogger Tag

Oo-ooh! I’ve been tagged by Lisa from Beauty and the Prince to take part in The Procrastinating Blogger Tag. I’m the worlds worst procrastinator, often putting things off until I REALLY have to do them. Maybe this is why I feel so overwhelmed all of the time, because I end up with so much to do, and not knowing where to start. This particular tag is beauty regime related, and I’m the least structured person I know when it comes to that! But I’m going to answer the questions, because what blogger doesn’t like to talk about themselves?!

1. Name a beauty regime that you rarely do?

I’ll tell you a secret… I have zero beauty regime. I just about remember to slap on some moisturiser in the morning after I’ve washed my face in the shower. I’ve got several lotions and potions, but I rarely use them! So there isn’t really a beauty regime that I rarely do, because I don’t really have one in the first place!

2. Is washing your make-up brushes something that you do regularly?

Ahem. Nope. Every so often I’ll look at them, think “gross” and go and give them a wash in the bathroom sink with a bit of shampoo. Now that I’ve admitted to that, I’m going to go and wash those brushes!

3. How long will you last with chipped nail polish?

I don’t know what the problem is with my nails at the moment, but nail polish does not last long at all – not even the ones that promise to last 10 days without chipping. For example, I put some polish on yesterday and it’s already chipped on most of my nails. I do put on a base coat, and a top coat, but that still doesn’t stop the chipping! I am figuring it is because I spend a lot of the day typing, thus chipping away at the polish. It really irritates me!

Once I see chips, I fill them in with a bit of polish until I have the time (later on – procrastination at its finest!) to re-do the whole set.

4. How long will you put off buying/replacing a beauty product, even if you need it?

Now this is one thing I am good at – I have a stock pile of my favourite products – shampoo and conditioner, foundation, mascara etc. So I win right?

5. What is your worst beauty habit?

My worst beauty habit has to be not really having any habits! I guess I’m a sinner at not always taking my make up properly at the end of the day…

6. Name something non-beauty and beauty related that you put off doing all the time?

Where do I begin?! I put off reading magazines and books I’ve bought, I put off crafting projects, I put off sorting out and editing photographs for blog posts, I put off colouring in the adult colouring books I bought, I put off watching that new DVD I bought, I put off so many things it’s not even funny any more! I really need to start learning to take time out to do the things I want to do…

7. When going out somewhere, do you leave getting ready to the last minute?

It really does depend… I can get showered, made-up and dressed in super quick time, but there are days that I can sit in my dressing gown after having a shower for an hour or so before I bother to start getting ready. And even then I can start doing my hair, but then get bored and start doing my make up, before finishing off my hair, then remembering I’ve not put mascara on… I swear I have some sort of attention disorder these days.

8. Can you commit to spending bans?

Having once been in a LOT of debt, this is not a problem for me. Unless I have the money in the bank for something, I don’t buy it… I save for it instead. The only thing I have on credit is my new car that I bought last year.

9. How organized are your make-up and nail polish collections?

I’ve certainly got a lot better than I used to be! I used to keep all of my make up in a box and rummage through to find what I needed. But as my make up collection has grown, I’ve got a small stack of plastic drawers that I store everything in. There is a drawer for face make up – foundation, powder, blush, etc., one for eye make up – shadows, eye liners, mascaras etc., and finally, one for manicures and pedicures with nail polish, files and other tools to give myself a mani or pedi.
